A Week in Bali: Our Full Group Trip Walkthrough
Day by day, from the moment we landed in Denpasar to the final sunset at Tanah Lot. Here's exactly what a Navaro Bali departure looks and feels like.
There's a particular kind of quiet that only exists just after landing in Bali. The warm air hits you the moment the aircraft door opens, and something shifts. This is what our March 2026 departure felt like and we want to walk you through every single day of it, honestly.
Day 1 - Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Our group of 18 arrived on staggered flights between 11am and 3pm into Ngurah Rai International Airport. Private transfers were waiting for every arrival no shared shuttles, no waiting around for stragglers. By 5pm, everyone was checked into their private villas at our boutique property in Ubud, showered, and ready to breathe.
The welcome dinner was held at an open-air restaurant overlooking rice terraces just outside Ubud. Long table, local food, cold Bintang, and 18 strangers beginning to become something else. This is always our favourite moment of any departure watching a group of people who arrived alone start to relax into each other.
Day 2 - Temples & Tegallalang
We started early to beat the crowds 7am departure to Tirta Empul water temple, one of Bali's most sacred sites. Our local guide, Made, has been working with Navaro for three years. He got us into the inner courtyard before the tour groups arrived. The difference was remarkable.
Afternoon was spent at Tegallalang Rice Terraces the iconic terraced landscape that has been photographed millions of times, but which still stops you in your tracks when you're standing inside it. We stayed for two hours, well past what most tours allow.
Day 3 - Mount Batur Sunrise Hike
The 2am alarm is brutal. The summit is worth every second of it. We started the ascent at 3:30am with headtorches and a private guide for every six hikers. The summit at sunrise with a sea of clouds below and the caldera lake glowing in the first light is one of those experiences that is simply not transferable through a photograph. You have to be there.
- ✦Private guided ascent with 1 guide per 6 hikers
- ✦Summit reached before first tourist groups arrived
- ✦Hot breakfast cooked on volcanic steam at the top
- ✦Descended back to villas by 10am
Days 4-6 - Beach, Culture & Free Time
The second half of the trip balanced structured experiences with genuine free time. A full day on Nusa Penida island including Kelingking Beach. An afternoon in Seminyak for those who wanted beach clubs and sunset cocktails. A cooking class in a family compound in Penestanan. We intentionally build flexibility into every itinerary not everyone wants to do everything, and that's exactly right.
Day 7 - Tanah Lot & Departure
Final morning was slow. Breakfast at the villa, last swims, unhurried packing. We ended with sunset at Tanah Lot the ancient sea temple perched on a rock formation at the edge of the ocean. As the sun dropped, 18 people who had arrived as strangers stood together quietly watching it. Private transfers to the airport followed, timed to each person's departure.
